Build stronger economy, safer community and stop wasteful government spending
Kicks off Campaign in Burnaby North
Burnaby - Michael Wu, BBC United Party MLA Candidate for Burnaby North, opens his campaign office on September 21, 2024, marking the formal start of his campaign to BC Legislature in Victoria.
Michael Wu has been living in this neighbourhood for over 25 years. He was born in Taiwan, spent his childhood in Saudi Arabia then immigrated to Canada with his family when he was ten. Michael Wu went to school in Burnaby, founded and runs his business in Burnaby, and started his family in Burnaby.
As a local business owner, Michael Wu understands firsthand all the challenges and difficulties small business owners are facing now. When elected as MLA, he will be a strong advocate for small business, for economic development in BC. Michael Wu served as a RCMP Auxiliary Officer for the past 17 years, providing Mandarin and Cantonese translation services. He witnessed the devastating effects of crimes and drugs in our community, and years of law enforcement experience makes him strongly believe that public safety is paramount and that the government must take full responsibility for communities' concern of crimes.
Michael Wu is a devoted husband and proud father of two. His wife is a long time teacher in North Burnaby High School. Michael Wu understands how ordinary families are trying to go through many difficulties, including lack of education resources like childcare and school spaces, lack of public health resources, ever-increasing housing and living costs. As a fellow resident and future MLA, he will be a strong voice for residents and businesses in Burnaby North in the BC Legislature.
Michael Wu believes that only a BC Conservative government can bring back common sense back into governance, stop wasteful spending by the current NDP government, and bring BC back to a province with a booming economy, safer community and better services.
